Brigden Jones ranked World Number 1
22 year old Jo Brigden Jones is ranked as the World Number 1 following the completion of the 2010 Canoe Sprint World Cup The rankings are compiled from the three World Cups held this season in Vichy, France – Szeged, Hungary - and Duisburg, Germany.
They include results from the Olympic events in the K1 (200m & 500m).
Jo has been training with her coach, 2009 Australian Canoeing, Coach of the Year, Guy Wilding, in San Diego, in Europe and in Hawaii (sinces Guy's move to become head coach of the USA Sprint Team) and her steady improvement and consistent performances now have her on 25 points with second place on 18 points.
"The World Championship performances are yet to be taken into consideration but right now Jo is in a great position" Guy says. The World Championships are being held in Poznan, Poland from the 19th-22nd August.
